TL;DR

Control Systems Engineer (Industrial Automation): Designing and implementing industrial automation and control system solutions for complex industrial applications with an accent on PLC/DCS/SCADA architecture and system integration. Focus on developing functional specifications, coordinating third-party interfaces, and providing on-site commissioning and performance validation.

Location: Office-based in Jubail Industrial City, Saudi Arabia

What you will do

  • Design control system architectures, philosophies, and functional specifications using PLC, DCS, and SCADA.
  • Configure control logic, interlocks, and alarm management strategies for HMI/SCADA systems.
  • Prepare engineering deliverables such as control narratives, I/O lists, and system architecture diagrams.
  • Coordinate integration with third-party systems and review vendor technical submittals and FAT documentation.
  • Provide on-site field support for construction, commissioning, and loop verification.
  • Execute FAT/SAT procedures and develop system turnover documentation.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Automation, or Controls Engineering (or related discipline).
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in control systems engineering within industrial environments.
  • Proficiency in PLC, DCS, and SCADA configuration, programming, and system integration.
  • Proven experience in commissioning, start-up, and system troubleshooting.
  • Fluency in English is required.
  • Willingness to travel domestically and internationally to support site activities.

Nice to have

  • Experience in mining, mineral processing, or other heavy industrial environments.
  • Hands-on experience with major platforms like Siemens, Rockwell/Allen-Bradley, ABB, Emerson, or Honeywell.
  • Understanding of industrial networks and protocols (Modbus, Ethernet/IP, Profibus).
  • Knowledge of functional safety concepts (SIL / IEC 61511).
