Senior Staff Software Engineer (Billing)

Location: San Francisco, CA, United States; on-site

Salary: $237,600–$288,000 annually plus bonus and restricted stock units.

What you will do

• Design, build, operate, and scale hirify.global Cloud billing services covering usage metering, pricing, invoicing, and payment integrations.
• Develop real-time and batch processing pipelines for usage tracking and cost calculation.
• Build APIs and services that provide customers with transparent insights into usage and spend.
• Implement safeguards, validation, reconciliation, observability, and error-handling workflows to ensure billing accuracy.
• Partner with Product, Finance, Customer Success, Support, and engineering teams on pricing models, product launches, and revenue workflows.
• Lead architectural discussions, review code, mentor engineers, and help raise engineering standards.

Requirements

• 5+ years of software development experience, including backend development with Go, Java, Rust, or C++.
• Experience with billing, payments, metering, financial systems, or similarly complex high-integrity data systems.
• Expertise designing and operating scalable, fault-tolerant distributed systems with strong data consistency guarantees.
• Knowledge of real-time and batch data processing, event-driven architectures, and financial data modeling.
• Strong focus on correctness, reliability, auditability, edge cases, monitoring, alerting, and debugging.
• Ability to work on-site in San Francisco, CA, United States.
