What you will do

• Design mass-manufacturable parts and assemblies for large industrial enclosures and structural plastics.
• Own the full product lifecycle from initial concept to high-volume production.
• Create 3D designs and 2D drawings using CATIA V6/3DX.
• Perform structural and tolerance analysis using a first-principles approach.
• Conduct hands-on prototyping and testing.
• Collaborate with mechanical, electrical, and manufacturing teams as well as external suppliers.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, mechatronics, or a similar field.
• 5+ years of industry experience designing outdoor-rated industrial enclosures for electromechanical assemblies.
• 5+ years of experience with 3D CAD (CATIA V6/3DX is a plus).
• Deep knowledge of high-volume manufacturing (sheet metal, injection molding, diecasting, welding).
• Experience with ingress ratings and seals.
• Must be based in or able to work on-site in Scotts Valley.

Nice to have

• Experience with paintings, coatings, and composites.
• Knowledge of PCBAs, connectors, and electronic components.
• Proficiency in FEA, CFD, or multi-physics modeling (Ansys, MATLAB, Python).
• Experience with GD&T and tolerance analysis.
• Experience with medium voltage (34.5kV) or grid-related products.
