Manager, Software Engineering (International) (Fintech)

Location: Remote within the UK

Base pay range: £142,000–£190,000 per year

What you will do

• Lead and grow a full-stack engineering team building the Affirm App and direct-to-consumer products for Canada, the UK, and future international markets.
• Own the software lifecycle from strategy and roadmap definition through production delivery.
• Translate international growth objectives into executable engineering plans and maintain clarity on priorities.
• Hire, develop, and retain engineers while creating career growth paths and maintaining a high bar for technical craft.
• Align product, design, data science, and business partners across time zones.
• Establish standards for reliability, performance, scalability, AI-assisted productivity, and impact measurement.

Requirements

• 10+ years of software engineering experience, including 4+ years leading and growing engineering teams.
• Experience shipping and scaling consumer-facing products, ideally in direct-to-consumer or fintech environments.
• Experience building high-performing distributed teams and developing engineers.
• Strong cross-functional communication and stakeholder alignment skills.
• Experience with international or multi-market product development and geographically distributed operations.
• Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience; clear and confident English communication required.
