DIS-TRAN Packaged Substations Transfer Portal - Assembly Team Lead

What you will do

• Lead daily assembly activities and organize work to achieve production targets and on-time delivery commitments.
• Set the pace for safe work, conduct safety planning, maintain 5S standards, and address hazards, incidents, and near misses.
• Review drawings, schedules, materials, tooling, equipment, staffing, and capacity needs to prevent production constraints.
• Coordinate labor assignments, monitor progress against planned hours and milestones, and escalate schedule risks with recovery actions.
• Ensure assembly work meets drawings, specifications, work instructions, and the Quality Management System.
• Work hands-on with assembly technicians, provide training and coaching, and coordinate cross-training and process improvements.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience in manufacturing, fabrication, assembly, construction, or a similar production environment.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, layouts, measurements, and production documentation.
• Knowledge of basic shop math, including fractions, decimals, and whole numbers.
• Experience safely using hand tools, power tools, machinery, and material-handling equipment.
• Ability to plan work, organize priorities, communicate clearly, solve problems, and guide or train technicians.

• Prior formal or informal lead experience.
