Sr. Mechanical Design Engineer (Medical Devices)

Location: Brno, Czech Republic; eligible to work legally in the Czech Republic. Hybrid arrangement with flexible working hours and work-from-home allowance for up to 2 days per week.

What you will do

• Interpret technical drawings and CAD models and design mechanical components and assemblies using SolidWorks or Creo.
• Evaluate customer design proposals and specifications for feasibility, cost, and maintenance requirements.
• Modify existing designs to improve performance, manufacturability, reliability, and cost efficiency.
• Investigate equipment failures and recommend corrective actions.
• Collaborate with engineers, suppliers, and manufacturing teams to resolve design issues and support implementation.
• Support prototype development and testing, including documentation, reporting, and quality control throughout the design lifecycle.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, ideally mechatronics, or a related field.
• At least 4–5 years of relevant mechanical engineering experience and experience with full life-cycle development.
• Proficiency in SolidWorks or Creo and strong knowledge of mechanical systems, materials, and manufacturing processes.
• Fluent English speaking skills.
• Familiarity with industry standards such as IEC 60601, plus analytical thinking, problem-solving, communication, and teamwork skills.
• Legal eligibility to work in the Czech Republic and availability for occasional international travel.

Nice to have

• Experience designing medical devices or working in regulated environments.
• Knowledge of FMEA, DFM/DFA, and risk management tools.
