TL;DR
Sr. Mechanical Design Engineer (SolidWorks/Creo): Designing, developing, testing, and improving mechanical components and assemblies for sensing, imaging, and precision analysis systems with an accent on manufacturability, reliability, and regulated medical-device requirements. Focus on interpreting CAD models and technical specifications, investigating equipment failures, supporting prototype testing, and resolving design issues with suppliers and manufacturing teams.
Location: Brno, Czech Republic; hybrid work with up to two days per week from home

What you will do
- Design and develop mechanical components and assemblies using SolidWorks or Creo.
- Interpret technical drawings, CAD models, customer proposals, and engineering specifications.
- Evaluate feasibility, cost, maintenance requirements, performance, and manufacturability.
- Investigate equipment failures, recommend corrective actions, and improve existing designs.
- Collaborate with engineers, suppliers, and manufacturing teams to resolve design issues.
- Support prototype development and testing, including technical documentation and reporting.
Requirements
- Bachelorβs degree in mechanical engineering, mechatronics, or a related field.
- Senior-level mechanical engineering experience, including full life cycle development.
- Proficiency in SolidWorks or Creo and strong knowledge of mechanical systems, materials, and manufacturing processes.
- Fluent English speaking skills and strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and teamwork abilities.
- Knowledge of industry standards such as IEC 60601 and ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
- Legal eligibility to work in the Czech Republic and availability for occasional international travel.
Nice to have
- Experience designing medical devices or working in regulated environments.
- Knowledge of FMEA, DFM/DFA, and risk management tools.
