Sr. Mechanical Design Engineer

Location: Brno, Czech Republic; hybrid work with up to two days per week from home

What you will do

• Design and develop mechanical components and assemblies using SolidWorks or Creo.
• Interpret technical drawings, CAD models, customer proposals, and engineering specifications.
• Evaluate feasibility, cost, maintenance requirements, performance, and manufacturability.
• Investigate equipment failures, recommend corrective actions, and improve existing designs.
• Collaborate with engineers, suppliers, and manufacturing teams to resolve design issues.
• Support prototype development and testing, including technical documentation and reporting.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, mechatronics, or a related field.
• Senior-level mechanical engineering experience, including full life cycle development.
• Proficiency in SolidWorks or Creo and strong knowledge of mechanical systems, materials, and manufacturing processes.
• Fluent English speaking skills and strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and teamwork abilities.
• Knowledge of industry standards such as IEC 60601 and ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
• Legal eligibility to work in the Czech Republic and availability for occasional international travel.

Nice to have

• Experience designing medical devices or working in regulated environments.
• Knowledge of FMEA, DFM/DFA, and risk management tools.
