Professional Learning Specialist (ELA)

Location: Based in the Bowie, Maryland area, supporting nearby districts. Travel up to 80% is required, including on-site support and overnight stays. A valid driver's license is required.

Salary: $60,750–$99,750 per year

What you will do

• Support district-wide adoptions of the Ready and i-Ready diagnostic and instruction programs.
• Deliver professional development to teachers, coaches, and school leaders on effective program implementation.
• Provide classroom coaching, lesson-planning and pacing support, and on-site assistance.
• Help educators analyze assessment data and apply findings to instruction.
• Develop and revise annual professional development plans and schedules with district and site leaders.
• Monitor program implementation and communicate with sales teams, educators, students, and district stakeholders.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree.
• At least 2 years of experience teaching ELA, coaching ELA teachers, and providing ELA professional development.
• Strong knowledge of Common Core State Standards for ELA in grades K–8 or comparable state standards.
• Comfort using digital tools and online assessments and applying data with teachers and leaders.
• Knowledge of adult learning principles and professional development practices.
• Willingness to travel up to 80% and a valid driver’s license.

Nice to have

• Secondary ELA teaching experience at the 6–12 level.
• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in ELA or ELA education.
• Understanding of K–8 mathematics standards.
