Data Engineer (AWS)

Location: Fully remote, United States work authorization required

Salary: $100,000–$140,000 per year

What you will do

• Build and maintain data marts, materialized views, and data pipelines in an AWS-hosted data lake.
• Design, optimize, and support data workflows for agency-wide analytics and reporting.
• Monitor data infrastructure health and troubleshoot performance bottlenecks and data quality issues.
• Collaborate with engineering, product, and agency stakeholders on data-driven initiatives.
• Support compliance with federal data security requirements, including FISMA and NIST 800-53.

Requirements

• Strong proficiency in SQL and experience with large-scale data infrastructure.
• Experience with AWS data services and cloud-based data infrastructure.
• Experience building and maintaining data marts, materialized views, or ETL/ELT pipelines.
• Experience maintaining and migrating PostgreSQL and other relational database environments.
• Experience working with structured and unstructured data.
• Authorization to work in the United States is required; certain roles may require U.S. citizenship and the ability to obtain and maintain a federal background investigation or security clearance.
