Principal Software Engineer (Libraries Platform)

What you will do

• Set the technical strategy and architecture for scaling the Libraries Platform across multiple language ecosystems.
• Generalize package indexing, build orchestration, metadata services, registry mirrors, and platform tooling for .NET, Go, and Rust.
• Redesign CVE remediation workflows from detection through patching, rebuilding, verification, SBOM and provenance regeneration, and release.
• Direct the development of agentic and AI-driven patch generation with automated validation, regression testing, provenance controls, and human checkpoints.
• Define platform SLOs, lead incident response and postmortems, and resolve complex compiler, toolchain, and dependency-resolution failures.
• Mentor Staff and Senior Engineers, lead architectural reviews, and communicate direction through technical documentation and RFCs.

Requirements

• 12+ years designing, building, and operating infrastructure for language ecosystems or developer platforms, with Principal-level scope across multiple teams.
• Experience onboarding or significantly extending support for a language ecosystem, ideally .NET/NuGet, Go/modules, or Rust/Cargo.
• Strong proficiency in Go and experience making platform architecture decisions across heterogeneous ecosystems.
• Experience automating manual remediation workflows and determining where human checkpoints remain necessary.
• Deep experience with CI/CD, cloud-native infrastructure, IaC, Docker/OCI, Kubernetes, Terraform, and tools such as GitHub Actions, Argo, or Tekton.
• Excellent written communication and the ability to influence technical direction in a remote, distributed environment.

Nice to have

• Software supply chain security experience with SLSA, SBOMs, sigstore, provenance, attestations, or secure-by-default packaging.
• Experience with Linux distributions, packaging, and reproducible build systems such as Alpine, Wolfi, Debian, Bazel, CMake, or Ninja.
• Familiarity with AI/ML packaging and infrastructure, including PyTorch or TensorFlow in cloud and Kubernetes environments.
• Experience significantly increasing the automation maturity of a platform.
