BIM/VDC Engineer

What you will do

• Review BIM models created from point clouds and validate accuracy, completeness, geometry, classification, naming, and level of detail.
• Identify missing, misaligned, duplicated, or incorrectly modeled elements and prepare actionable QA/QC reports.
• Compare BIM models with LiDAR scans, 360 captures, point clouds, construction drawings, and site documentation.
• Assess scan registration quality, point cloud density, alignment issues, and data gaps in scan-to-BIM workflows.
• Identify repetitive BIM tasks for automation and support scripts, templates, checklists, and semi-automated workflows.
• Work with product, engineering, and operations teams to create rule-based model validation checks.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering or Architecture.
• 3+ years of experience in BIM modeling, BIM coordination, or scan-to-BIM workflows.
• Strong experience with Revit and BIM, including validation against reality-capture data.
• Knowledge of construction drawings, building elements, levels, grids, MEP, structural and architectural coordination, and site documentation.
• Experience with BIM standards, LOD requirements, naming conventions, parameters, model organization, and scan-to-BIM delivery.
• Experience with tools such as Navisworks, Recap, CloudCompare, Cyclone, Autodesk Construction Cloud, or BIM 360.

Nice to have

• Experience automating BIM workflows with Dynamo, Python, Revit API, or similar tools.
• Familiarity with IFC, COBie, BIM data standards, or construction asset classification systems.
• Experience with Rhino, Grasshopper, or Blender.
