Virtual Design Coordinator (BIM Specialist)

Location: Germantown, Maryland; full-time in-office work required. U.S. citizenship is required for the federal contract.

Salary: $71,000–$98,000 per year.

What you will do

• Oversee multidisciplinary BIM projects and serve as the primary contact for BIM-related project and client questions.
• Define project-specific BIM requirements, model configurations, standards, protocols, and workflows with project managers and design teams.
• Coordinate models across architects, engineers, contractors, owners, and external partners, including file organization, sharing, and archival.
• Review models and PDF deliverables for compliance, perform model maintenance, and resolve Revit and design software issues.
• Run clash detection reports, resolve coordination issues, and support BIM coordination through the construction phase.
• Lead BIM kickoff and progress meetings and identify training needs for Virtual Design tools and standards.

Requirements

• At least 4 years of relevant experience; 5 years preferred or equivalent experience.
• Required: strong Revit knowledge, particularly project setup and model management.
• Experience troubleshooting Revit and other design software issues.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills for working with colleagues, clients, contractors, and consultants.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and Outlook, plus a high level of professionalism.
• U.S. citizenship required for the federal contract.

Nice to have

• Associate degree or certificate in Building Information Modeling.
• Knowledge of design techniques, tools, and principles used to produce technical plans and models.
