Senior Technical Content Writer (Data Platforms)

Location: Remote US; ideally based in the United States, with overlap with US business hours (ET–PT). Candidates outside these time zones may apply if they can accommodate United States working hours.

What you will do

• Research, outline, write, and revise ebooks and long-form guides on Databricks and Snowflake cost management.
• Explain compute optimization, job cluster configuration, Unity Catalog economics, Photon efficiency, and related platform-specific topics to experienced practitioners.
• Produce at least two technical blog posts per month based on observed patterns, specific data, product releases, platform updates, and practitioner pain points.
• Develop research outlines, speaker scripts, and slide frameworks for live and on-demand webinars.
• Collaborate with internal engineers, external practitioners, subject-matter experts, and contracted technical writers while preserving technical accuracy and presenter voice.
• Extend content coverage to BigQuery and map transferable concepts across data platforms without obscuring important technical distinctions.

Requirements

• 5–8 years of technical content experience with a portfolio demonstrating depth in data engineering, cloud infrastructure, or adjacent fields.
• Experience writing for Databricks and Snowflake practitioners, including data engineers, analytics engineers, platform engineers, or FinOps specialists.
• Hands-on familiarity with Databricks and Snowflake, including cluster configuration, job compute, and cost optimization levers.
• Experience creating ebooks and long-form guides that make dense technical material readable without oversimplifying it.
• Ability to independently drive workstreams, define research agendas, produce first drafts, and proactively identify accuracy issues.
• Strong editorial judgment and experience incorporating feedback from technical reviewers.

Nice to have

• Experience writing about BigQuery or other cloud data warehouse and lakehouse platforms.
• Familiarity with FinOps concepts for data infrastructure, including cost allocation, showback, chargeback, and spend optimization.
• Experience writing webinar scripts or technical presentation materials.
• Background as a data or cloud practitioner who moved into technical writing.
