Location: Charleston, Tennessee, United States of America; onsite in a chemical manufacturing plant and laboratory. The role works a 12-hour rotating shift and may require alternative schedules, overtime, weekends, or holiday coverage.

Salary: $43,160–$63,294 per year, plus discretionary bonuses.

What you will do

  • Perform production line quality checks, including record audits, package-weight verification, label audits, BOM adherence, and lot-stamping checks.
  • Collect plant samples and conduct wet chemistry and physical analyses, including titrations, moisture, particle size, and hardness testing.
  • Interpret results against specifications, record data, communicate findings, and track non-conformances.
  • Maintain the laboratory sample retention program, supplies, chemicals, and raw-material data.
  • Calibrate, verify, troubleshoot, and perform preventive maintenance on laboratory instruments.
  • Support ISO 9001 activities, internal audits, technical projects, investigations, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required; an associate degree or higher in chemistry or a related field is preferred.
  • 1–3 years of laboratory, quality control, manufacturing, chemical processing, food, or related industrial experience preferred; relevant entry-level education, internships, or coursework may be considered.
  • Familiarity with laboratory procedures, analytical chemistry, laboratory equipment, calibration, and sample preparation.
  • Ability to apply analytical thinking, maintain accurate data, communicate clearly, work independently, and collaborate across teams.
  • Understanding of safety data sheets and safe laboratory and plant practices.
  • Ability to use Excel, Outlook, and Word, lift up to 50 pounds, stand for 8+ hours during a 12-hour shift, and distinguish colors for laboratory testing and safety tasks.
