Autonomous Vehicle Operator (Automotive)

Location: Onsite in Santa Clara, California; morning shifts from 6:00am to 2:30pm PT on a rotating Wed-Sun, Thu-Mon, or Sat-Wed schedule.

Salary: $27/hour, paid biweekly, plus weekend differential, benefits, and potential discretionary contract completion bonus.

What you will do

• Operate autonomous test vehicles in manual and autonomous modes for up to 8 hours per day in varied traffic conditions.
• Use proprietary software to collect real-world data and provide accurate feedback to engineers.
• Troubleshoot operational issues in real time and coordinate with the Mission Operations team to meet mileage targets.
• Conduct pre- and post-mission vehicle inspections and perform basic maintenance such as washing vehicles and inflating tires.
• Monitor safety and navigation systems while maintaining situational awareness and following safety protocols.
• Interact with the public and host professional ridealongs for company leaders, investors, stakeholders, and engineers when required.

Requirements

• Current valid California driver's license and at least 3 years of possession of a US driver's license.
• Ability to work onsite in Santa Clara and reliably work 5 days per week on an assigned morning shift.
• Clean driving record and ability to pass a criminal background check and drug test.
• Strong written and verbal communication, collaboration, time management, and problem-solving skills.
• Comfort operating laptops, tablets, smartphones, and standard field equipment.
• Ability to sit for extended periods, operate a vehicle that may brake or swerve abruptly, and lift up to 25 pounds.
