Staff Software Engineer, Tech Lead (AI)

Location: Hybrid role based in the Palo Alto or Seattle office, with in-office collaboration 3 days a week.

Base salary: $218,000–$234,000 per year, with additional equity and benefits.

What you will do

• Establish the team's technical direction, goals, and vision for major projects.
• Lead the design and implementation of platform projects and features powered by Generative AI.
• Lead large projects and manage scope, priorities, delivery timelines, and quality standards.
• Make technical decisions, resolve organization-wide problems, and drive engineering excellence.
• Collaborate with Product Management, Design, and other cross-functional teams.
• Lead, mentor, and support engineers while improving team performance and technology.

Requirements

• 9–12 years of relevant software engineering experience with a strong hands-on technical background.
• Experience with React, Java, and Python.
• Excellent collaboration and communication skills for complex technical topics.
• Experience mentoring engineers and collaborating across teams.
• Track record of continuous improvements to teams and technology.
• Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science or a related field.
