Autonomous Vehicle Operator, Houston (AM Shift, 12-Month Duration)

Location: Onsite in Houston, Texas, United States. Morning shifts run from 8:00am to 4:30pm CT on rotating five-day schedules: Friday–Tuesday, Saturday–Wednesday, or Wednesday–Sunday.

Salary: $24/hour, paid biweekly, plus weekend differential. Benefits include medical, dental, and vision insurance, daily meal reimbursement, paid time off, limited company holidays, and a potential discretionary biannual contract completion bonus.

What you will do

• Operate test vehicles in manual and autonomous modes for up to eight hours per day in diverse traffic conditions.
• Use proprietary software to collect real-world data and provide accurate feedback to engineers.
• Troubleshoot operational issues in real time and collaborate with the Mission Operations team to resolve them.
• Monitor safety and navigation systems, maintain situational awareness, and follow driving and operational safety procedures.
• Conduct vehicle inspections and perform basic maintenance, including washing vehicles and inflating tires.
• Interact with the public and host ridealongs for company leaders, investors, stakeholders, and engineers when required.

Requirements

• Current valid Texas driver's license and at least three years of possession of a US driver's license.
• Clean driving record; ability to pass a criminal background check and drug test.
• Ability to reliably work five days per week on the assigned morning shift.
• Strong written and verbal communication, collaboration, problem-solving, and time-management skills.
• Comfort operating laptops, tablets, smartphones, and standard field equipment for documentation and real-time workflows.
• Ability to sit for extended periods, operate pedals and vehicle controls, and regularly bend, squat, stretch, and lift up to 25 pounds.
