Software Architect (AI)

Location: On-site at the Sunnyvale headquarters office, United States

Salary: $204,000–$245,000 annually, plus potential bonus and equity

What you will do

• Own the technical architecture and long-term roadmap for the manufacturing test software platform.
• Lead, mentor, and grow a team of Full Stack Engineers while setting standards for code quality, testing, documentation, and operations.
• Design end-to-end systems including test execution frameworks, user interfaces, distributed data storage, cloud services, client-server infrastructure, and reporting.
• Partner with hardware, test engineering, data, operations, and reliability teams to translate requirements into scalable software designs.
• Drive architectural decisions across front-end frameworks, APIs, database schemas, data synchronization, cloud deployments, and on-premises infrastructure.
• Improve manufacturing efficiency, quality, and scalability through tooling, automation, data infrastructure, and platform capabilities.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in computer science, computer engineering, or a related field.
• 8+ years of professional software engineering experience, including 2+ years in a technical leadership, staff engineer, or architect role.
• Experience designing complex full-stack software systems at scale, including distributed systems and data-intensive applications.
• Strong proficiency in at least one advanced programming language, such as Python or C++, and familiarity with modern full-stack development.
• Experience architecting software for hardware manufacturing environments, including manufacturing test automation, MES or test data systems, or manufacturing quality control.
• Experience with client-server architecture, cloud platforms, infrastructure-as-code, CI/CD, SQL and NoSQL databases, and production operations.

Nice to have

• Experience building distributed data platforms that synchronize across multiple sites or facilities.
• Experience with data engineering, analytics, business intelligence, reporting, or visualization platforms.
• Strong UI/UX sensibility for tools used by technical operators.
• Experience with networking and cybersecurity in industrial or manufacturing environments.
