Associate Fleet Technician (Autonomous Vehicles)

Location: Onsite in Houston, Texas 77007; overnight shift

Salary: $25.59–$34.62 per hour, plus benefits and a potential discretionary annual contract completion bonus

What you will do

• Perform daily and weekly preventive maintenance checks to keep autonomous vehicles operational.
• Diagnose and resolve routine hardware, software, and electronic issues using technical documentation and standardized tools.
• Complete minor mechanical repairs, component replacements, and system retrofits according to engineering specifications.
• Support the transfer, setup, and extraction of autonomous vehicles and robots in operational zones.
• Complete digital checklists and work orders, document issues, and escalate problems outside the role’s scope.
• Respond to operational and roadside emergencies while collaborating with Engineering, Software, and Field Operations teams.

Requirements

• Basic technical or mechanical experience with vehicles, electronics, or complex machinery.
• Ability to understand and follow technical documentation, schematics, flowcharts, SOPs, and safety procedures.
• Experience using vehicle diagnostic equipment and working with ADAS systems.
• Basic understanding of Linux and ability to write basic code.
• Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
• Ability to safely lift up to 50 lbs and stand, bend, or stoop for extended periods.

Nice to have

• Automotive, robotics, IT, or technical training or certifications such as ASE, CompTIA, or a vocational certificate.
• High-voltage certification or training and experience with electric or autonomous vehicles.
• Basic electrical troubleshooting, multimeter use, and knowledge of schematics.
• Lean manufacturing or 5S experience, IPC certification, or EPA 609 refrigerant certification.
• Basic Linux command-line experience for diagnostics.
