Director, Epidemiology & Methodological Innovation (Oncology RWE)

Location: Remote - USA

Salary: $170,000–$230,000 for Chicago; $180,000–$250,000 for New York City/San Francisco. The range applies when the role is performed from California and may vary by location, including Colorado, Illinois, and New York.

What you will do

• Lead novel real-world evidence methods, including external control arms, causal inference in high-dimensional data, and integration of longitudinal clinical data with molecular and genomic signatures.
• Design and oversee retrospective database analyses from study protocols through delivery.
• Advise biopharma clients on first-in-kind study designs and translate complex methodological challenges into strategic roadmaps.
• Contribute to scientific publications and presentations at conferences such as ISPOR, ISPE, and ASCO.
• Partner with Data Science, Biostatistics, Product, Key Account Directors, and Business Development to identify opportunities and scale validated methods.
• Ensure research meets regulatory and ethical standards, including GEP and HIPAA, while meeting biopharma timelines.

Requirements

• Must be based in the USA; the role is remote.
• PhD preferred or PharmD in Epidemiology, Biostatistics, Health Economics, or a related quantitative field.
• 7+ years of HEOR/RWE experience, including at least 3 years in a leadership capacity.
• Deep oncology expertise is required.
• Experience with target trial emulation, propensity score applications in complex cohorts, or machine learning-augmented epidemiology.
• Advanced R or SAS skills and experience working with EHR, claims, and/or genomic data.

Nice to have

• Experience mentoring junior scientists and leading cross-functional squads in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.
• Experience presenting research at ISPOR, ISPE, or ASCO.
