Epidemiology Forecasting Director (Biotech)

Location: 5000 - Vertex US - Fan Pier, Boston, United States. Hybrid work allows remote work up to two days per week, or an on-site schedule of five days per week with ad hoc flexibility.

Base salary: $192,200–$288,400 per year, plus eligibility for an annual bonus and annual equity awards.

What you will do

• Lead systematic literature reviews and database or disease registry studies.
• Contribute to primary observational studies and generate rigorous global estimates of disease incidence, prevalence, and population size.
• Support population sizing for research, business development, commercial forecasting, clinical trial planning, regulatory filings, and long-range planning.
• Collaborate with commercial, business development, medical, clinical, regulatory, and corporate communications partners.
• Develop innovative approaches when existing epidemiologic evidence is sparse.
• Lead cross-functional alignment on strategic plans, investment levels, deliverables, timelines, and budgets.

Requirements

• PhD, DSc, or DrPH in Epidemiology or a related discipline with at least 10 years of industry experience in biopharmaceuticals or consulting; or MPH/MSc with at least 12 years of experience.
• Direct experience developing disease population size estimates and executing epidemiologic research.
• Experience with systematic literature reviews and primary observational studies.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, matrixed environment while managing competing priorities.
• Exceptional written and oral communication skills, including translating complex data into digestible information.
• Collaborative leadership skills with the ability to drive alignment across stakeholders and manage timelines and budgets.
