TL;DR
Accounting Lead - PCO (Healthcare): Preparing, reconciling, analyzing, and reporting accounting transactions and financial statements with an accent on forecasting, budgeting, monthly close, and healthcare financial data. Focus on analyzing payer-agnostic medical trends, developing complex financial analyses, and presenting market performance insights to executives.

Location: Hybrid position based in Louisville, Kentucky, with approximately two days per week in the downtown Louisville office. Fully remote arrangements may be considered case by case.

Salary: $94,900–$130,500 per year, plus eligibility for a bonus incentive plan.

What you will do

  • Prepare, record, reconcile, analyze, and report accounting transactions and financial statements.
  • Provide financial support through forecasting, budgeting, variance analysis, and monthly close activities.
  • Review financial data, transactions, journal entries, and reports, including ad hoc requests from executive leadership.
  • Develop methods for measuring and summarizing financial data and preparing complex analyses.
  • Analyze payer-agnostic medical data for trends and financial impact.
  • Present monthly financial performance and trend insights to markets and partner with teams across the organization to ensure accurate reporting.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.
  • At least 5 years of experience with general accounting and monthly close processes.
  • At least 2 years of leadership experience.
  • Experience presenting to upper management.
  • Proficiency in Excel.
  • Ability to work approximately two days per week from the Louisville, Kentucky office.

Nice to have

  • Master’s degree in business administration.
  • Healthcare industry experience and familiarity with healthcare income statements and medical loss ratios.
  • Certified Public Accountant license.
  • Experience with SQL, Essbase, healthcare claims reserving, and development.
