Senior Technical Accountant

Location: Menlo Park, California, United States. Hybrid schedule with onsite work Monday–Thursday and work from home on Friday. Candidates must have current authorization to work in the United States without present or future sponsorship.

Salary: $112,000–$168,000 annually

What you will do

• Lead and support monthly, quarterly, and annual close activities, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and variance analyses.
• Ensure financial statements and complex transactions comply with U.S. GAAP and company accounting policies.
• Research technical accounting matters and prepare documentation for revenue, leases, fixed assets, accruals, equity, debt, and other non-routine transactions.
• Manage inventory and cost accounting activities, including reconciliations, reserves, and excess and obsolete inventory analysis.
• Lead quarterly accounting and reporting for stock-based compensation under ASC 718, including valuation review, disclosures, and complex equity transactions.
• Support SEC reporting, external audits, M&A activities, system implementations, automation, and finance transformation projects.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or equivalent qualification.
• 4–7 years of accounting experience with strong hands-on application of ASC 606, ASC 718, and ASC 842.
• Public company and/or Big Four experience, including SOX compliance experience.
• Ability to research technical accounting matters and prepare clear, well-supported documentation.
• Advanced Excel skills and experience with ERP systems.
• Strong analytical, organizational, communication, and prioritization skills, with the ability to collaborate with management, auditors, and cross-functional teams.
