TL;DR
Lead Revenue Accountant (Revenue Accounting/ASC 606): Managing revenue accounting operations, month-end close, reconciliations, and revenue recognition systems for a SaaS insurance technology platform with an accent on ASC 606 compliance, usage-based billing, and financial data accuracy. Focus on designing efficient revenue processes, identifying revenue leakage, improving automation and ERP workflows, and delivering actionable financial insights to management.
Location: Remote within Massachusetts, Rhode Island, or New Hampshire, with onsite work at the Boston office one to two days per week. Travel: 0–10%.
Salary: $79,300–$113,300 annually, depending on candidate location. Eligible for annual bonus compensation.

What you will do
- Own key month-end close activities, general ledger reconciliations, and revenue-related journal entries.
- Manage the RightRev revenue accounting system, including accounting periods and revenue schedules.
- Review customer contracts and document accounting treatment under ASC 606.
- Manage order activation in Salesforce and coordinate with Sales Operations and Accounts Receivable to prevent revenue leakage and ensure accurate billing.
- Prepare revenue analysis reports and provide balance sheet and income statement insights to management.
- Support audits, system implementations, usage-based billing initiatives, automation, AI adoption, and ERP process improvements.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance.
- 4+ years of relevant accounting experience.
- Working knowledge of revenue recognition principles under ASC 606.
- Advanced Excel skills and experience with large ERP and CRM systems such as Workday and Salesforce.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to manage multiple deliverables independently and collaboratively.
- Ability to work from Massachusetts, Rhode Island, or New Hampshire and attend the Boston office one to two days per week.

- Experience with RightRev or similar revenue accounting systems.
- Experience improving accounting processes, systems, or operational efficiency.
- Experience supporting audits and collaborating with teams inside and outside Finance.
