Sr. Trial Attorney (Insurance)

Location: Remote anywhere in the United States except Alaska and Hawaii; travel is required for certain arbitrations, trials, meetings, and events. Applicants must be authorized to work indefinitely in the United States and hold an active California Bar license in good standing.

Salary: $152,010–$202,550 annually, depending on work location, experience, and education; eligible for an annual discretionary bonus of up to 12%.

What you will do

• Handle a full inventory of complex and high-value insurance defense matters with minimal management oversight.
• Conduct all phases of personal injury litigation, including investigation, discovery, motions, arbitration hearings, and jury trials.
• Prepare pleadings, motions, discovery materials, trial documents, and other legal work product.
• Appear and advocate on behalf of hirify.global and its member insureds.
• Advise on significant legal issues affecting insurance and motor club operations.
• Mentor less senior attorneys and collaborate with claims specialists, paralegals, and support staff.

Requirements

• Active California Bar license in good standing and indefinite authorization to work in the United States required.
• 10–12+ years of insurance defense experience with substantial courtroom and first-chair trial experience.
• Juris Doctorate degree.
• Proficiency in personal injury litigation, including liability, causation, damages, coverage, and the tripartite relationship.
• Strong negotiation, communication, analytical, legal, organizational, and advocacy skills.
• Ability to manage multiple complex cases independently and work effectively with legal and claims support staff.

Nice to have

• Experience mentoring attorneys and contributing to employee resource groups, cross-functional projects, or community initiatives.
• Willingness to travel for divisional, team, and other in-person meetings as needed.
