Senior Broadcast Support Engineer

Location: Leeds, UK; hybrid workplace

What you will do

• Lead on-shift support teams and act as the primary technical escalation point within the broadcast facility.
• Monitor and manage IP channel outputs, transmission equipment, and supporting infrastructure.
• Oversee routing and configuration of Transport Streams over IP circuits, including multicast and unicast networks.
• Investigate and resolve live broadcast faults while maintaining signal continuity across ingest, MCR, and engineering teams.
• Develop preventative maintenance schedules, technical documentation, ticketing procedures, and workflow improvements.
• Collaborate with live engineering and network teams on system enhancements and future projects, while mentoring support team members.

Requirements

• Experience with broadcast playout systems, including GFX, logo, and text insertion.
• Knowledge of broadcast contribution encoding, OTT encoding technologies, and high-level fault analysis.
• Experience managing IP Transport Stream contributions over multicast and unicast networks.
• Knowledge of networking, routing, satellite communications, digital video compression, and stream analysis tools.
• Experience with satellite and fibre contribution signals and broadcast production facility glue infrastructure.
• Ability to work under pressure and resolve issues during live broadcasts.
