Senior Mechanical Design Engineer (Consumer Electronics)

Senior Mechanical Design Engineer (Consumer Electronics): Leading the mechanical engineering delivery of next-generation hardware products from concept through to mass production with an accent on manufacturability and JDM partner management. Focus on developing mechanical architectures, conducting DFM/DFA/DFR activities, and ensuring high-volume production quality.

Location: Hybrid (2 days per week in the office at the Osterley Campus, London)

What you will do

• Lead the end-to-end mechanical engineering delivery of consumer hardware for Entertainment, Connectivity, and Smart Home portfolios.
• Define mechanical requirements aligned to performance, cost, quality, and reliability objectives.
• Develop mechanical architectures and engineering standards to optimize high-volume manufacturing readiness.
• Partner with JDMs and suppliers to translate product requirements into robust, manufacturable solutions.
• Lead DFM, DFA, and DFR activities, including stage-gate reviews and risk management.
• Oversee validation activities such as DFMEA, tolerance analysis, and design verification testing.

Requirements

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Product Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Proven experience delivering high-volume consumer electronics from concept to production.
• Expertise in injection moulding, die casting, and sheet metal fabrication.
• Advanced CAD capability, specifically using SolidWorks.
• Strong understanding of thermal management principles and simulation tools.
• Ability to work from the Osterley office 2 days per week.
