Subsea (Marine), Network Delivery Specialist

Location: Hybrid, 3 days in the office, based in Birmingham, Ipswich, or London, United Kingdom. International travel is expected approximately four times per year, with offshore work of up to 30 days per year. The role requires DV eligibility.

What you will do

• Lead the planning, mobilization, execution, and demobilization of offshore marine and subsea campaigns.
• Coordinate vessels, equipment, contractors, consortium partners, project teams, regulators, and other stakeholders.
• Monitor scope, budgets, schedules, KPIs, operational dependencies, and corrective actions throughout delivery.
• Act as the marine focal point for incidents, emergency response, repair activities, and offshore decision-making.
• Support submarine cable lifecycle activities including installation, inspection, maintenance, upgrades, retirement, and decommissioning.
• Represent BT in international cable consortia and support investment cases, governance, crossing agreements, and asset strategy.

Requirements

• Experience delivering submarine cable systems across the end-to-end lifecycle, including design, installation, repair, maintenance, and decommissioning.
• Experience coordinating contractors, vessel owners, suppliers, partners, regulators, and customers.
• A track record of delivering complex marine campaigns through planning, budget control, risk management, and operational oversight.
• Strong leadership, influencing, communication, negotiation, and stakeholder relationship skills.
• Strong health, safety, environmental, regulatory, and offshore risk awareness.
• DV eligibility is required.

Nice to have

• Project management qualification and experience with programme or contract management.
• Knowledge of telecommunications subsea infrastructure, vessel operations, marine assurance, and offshore permitting.
• Strong GIS skills and experience with cable upgrades, asset life extension, retirement, or decommissioning programmes.
• Experience working within international cable system consortia and across multiple jurisdictions.
