Associate, Data Governance & Stewardship

Location: Jersey City, New Jersey, United States; office-based position

Salary: $116,000–$126,000 annual base salary

What you will do

• Build metrics, management information, and dashboards for business stakeholders and senior management.
• Curate data adjustments and aggregate information by division and other parameters affecting customer decisions, regulatory obligations, and reporting.
• Author data standards, reporting data dictionaries, data models, and other project documentation.
• Collaborate with engineering teams to develop enterprise data models and data quality controls.
• Review data governance tooling, including enterprise tools such as Legend, internally known as Alloy.
• Coordinate source-to-target data lineage documentation, digitize related processes, and provide project updates to stakeholders, sponsors, and users.

Requirements

• Master’s degree in Business Analytics, Information Systems, Computer Engineering, or a related field plus 1 year of relevant experience, or a bachelor’s degree in one of these fields plus 3 years of relevant experience.
• Experience using MS Office Suite, including pivot tables, VLOOKUP, index matching, and presentations, to analyze large datasets.
• Experience using SQL and Python to extract, transform, model, and analyze structured data for reporting and analytics.
• Experience developing dashboards and metrics with business intelligence and analytics tools to support data quality and issue management.
• Knowledge of data modeling concepts and technologies such as SQL, JSON, and Python, plus problem-solving and Lean Six Sigma techniques.
• Experience with product reference data, booking, settlement, or reconciliation functions in banking or financial services.
