Public Policy And Comment Analysis Specialist (Federal Regulatory Policy): Analyzing public comments and supporting federal agency rulemaking, policy documents, and regulatory initiatives with an accent on detailed quality control, technical writing, and client coordination. Location: Primarily Reston, Virginia, United States, in the DC Metro area; flexibility for telework is considered

Salary: $60,967–$103,643 per year

What you will do

  • Analyze and process public comments on proposed federal rules, policies, and initiatives.
  • Advise federal agency clients on managing and interpreting public feedback.
  • Draft, edit, format, and quality-control federal rulemaking documents, policy papers, reports, presentations, and technical background materials.
  • Provide technical direction to project staff and support interdisciplinary teams across multiple client engagements.
  • Assist with project and task-team management, including budgets, schedules, milestones, and deliverables.
  • Manage day-to-day client relationships and support long-term client satisfaction.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Public Policy, Political Science, or a related field with at least 3 years of relevant experience; or a master’s degree, JD, MPA, or equivalent with at least 2 years of relevant experience.
  • Experience providing comment analysis support for federal agency rulemakings and initiatives.
  • U.S. citizenship is required for federal contracts.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a moderate-level government security clearance.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, organizational, time-management, decision-making, written, and oral communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint, plus experience overseeing individuals or teams.
