Lead Consultant - Economist

What you will do

• Lead complex economic evaluation and advisory projects for UK public sector clients.
• Provide technical quality assurance for economic analysis and evaluation work.
• Lead bids and develop strategic client relationships.
• Identify and develop new economics opportunities across the public sector portfolio.
• Mentor economists and strengthen the team's technical capability.

Requirements

• Degree in economics or another quantitative discipline.
• At least ten years of relevant professional experience.
• Recognised technical leadership in economics or related analytical work.
• Proven experience leading consulting assignments, economic evaluations, or other economic analysis projects.
• Strong business development and people management experience.
• Ability to manage varied workloads to deadlines while maintaining quality.

Nice to have

• Experience with economic evaluation, value for money analysis, economic appraisal, or cost-benefit analysis.
• Knowledge of the HM Treasury Green Book, Magenta Book, and Aqua Book.
• Experience in economic modelling and quantitative analysis.
• Experience working with DESNZ or DBT.
