Tactical Buyer (Mechanical Components)

Location: Szczecin, Poland; onsite role with approximately 20% domestic and international travel

What you will do

• Support category and sourcing strategies for mechanical components and packaging.
• Manage RFQ activities, including supplier identification, quotation analysis, commercial evaluation, and sourcing recommendations.
• Support new product introduction and second-source projects.
• Prepare analyses for supplier negotiations, cost reduction, value engineering, and contract implementation.
• Monitor supplier performance across quality, delivery, cost, capacity, and supply continuity.
• Coordinate supplier visits, audits, business reviews, issue resolution, and stakeholder communication.

Requirements

• 3–5 years of experience in procurement, purchasing, strategic sourcing, or supply chain, preferably in manufacturing.
• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, manufacturing, supply chain, business, or a related field.
• Experience with RFQs, supplier quotation evaluation, negotiations, supplier relationship management, and performance analysis.
• Knowledge of mechanical components, engineering drawings, manufacturing requirements, materials, tolerances, CNC machining, surface treatments, stamping, forging, die casting, extrusion, and assembly.
• Proficiency in ERP systems and Microsoft Excel, including Pivot Tables, XLOOKUP, and data analysis.
• Fluent English required; willingness to travel domestically and internationally, with approximately 20% travel expected.

Nice to have

• Experience procuring corrugated and printed packaging, labels, inserts, foams, and protective packaging.
• Knowledge of packaging materials, print technologies, packaging development, and sustainability initiatives.
