Senior Manufacturing Engineer - CNC Machining (Aerospace)

Location: Onsite in Tewkesbury, United Kingdom; applications are welcomed from candidates across the UK. Support may be available for candidates who need to relocate closer to Tewkesbury, subject to business approval.

What you will do

• Lead the development and implementation of lean manufacturing processes focused on quality, cost, and delivery.
• Create and optimize machining processes for complex aerospace components using Siemens NX and related CAD/CAM technologies.
• Provide Design for Manufacture input during product development and lead NPI programs from concept through production.
• Lead APQP activities, including PFMEA, Control Plans, and MSA studies.
• Drive continuous improvement, process capability, downtime reduction, and operational excellence initiatives.
• Provide technical support to stakeholders and suppliers while mentoring Manufacturing Engineers and Technicians in tooling, gauging, and fixture design.

Requirements

• Significant Manufacturing Engineering experience in a precision machining environment.
• Background in five-axis milling and/or mill-turn machining.
• Advanced CNC programming expertise using Siemens NX.
• Strong knowledge of DfM, PFMEA, GD&T, and process optimization methodologies.
• Experience leading NPI activities, technical projects, and mentoring engineering colleagues.
• Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.

Nice to have

• Degree, HNC, or HND in Mechanical, Production, or Manufacturing Engineering, or an equivalent qualification.
• Vericut experience and knowledge of Okuma, Mazak, or DMG five-axis and mill-turn equipment.
• Knowledge of DFSS, Zero Defects, and advanced lean methodologies.
• Exposure to EDM, honing, lapping, grinding, flow deburring, anodising, heat treatment, and automation processes.
