Business Analyst (Pharma Industry)

Location: Bridgewater, New York. Preferred locations include NJ, NYC, MA, PA, IL, GA, and TX.

Salary: $65,000–$169,000 base compensation annually, with potential additional variable compensation.

What you will do

• Elicit, analyze, prioritize, and document business, system, and data requirements for pharmaceutical and life sciences organizations.
• Define functional specifications, business rules, end-to-end processes, interface agreements, and detailed data specifications.
• Perform current-state and future-state gap analysis across data models, requirements, and system interfaces.
• Develop standards and tools for documenting requirements, rules, and data specifications.
• Support operational rollout, user adoption, post-implementation activities, and client delivery engagements.
• Partner with QA teams to validate test cases, scenarios, interfaces, and data accuracy.

Requirements

• 5–7+ years of experience in business analysis and systems analysis roles.
• Mandatory experience in pharma or life sciences, including specialty pharma, healthcare data, or regulated environments.
• Experience with data rules, data formats, KPIs, third-party vendors, and data exchange interfaces.
• Ability to map business and data requirements to specifications and test cases.
• Knowledge of compliance, validation, and documentation expectations in pharmaceutical organizations.
• IIBA certification such as CBAP or CCBA, or certification from another recognized professional institution.

Nice to have

• EDI and file-based data exchange experience, including XML, fixed-length positional formats, and CSV.
• Knowledge of ICD-10, CPT, RxNorm, and HCPCS standards.
• Six Sigma certification or demonstrated process improvement experience.
• Certified ScrumMaster certification or Agile delivery experience.
