TL;DR
AD Engineer (Active Directory) (AD DS/Entra ID): Designing, operating, and securing hybrid Active Directory identity solutions for a highly regulated banking environment with an accent on Windows Server, synchronization, access lifecycle management, and identity security. Focus on building resilient directory infrastructure, troubleshooting hybrid authentication, applying infrastructure as code with Terraform, and reducing the Active Directory attack surface.
Location: Madrid, Spain; hybrid work with days at home and at the ING MAD office

What you will do
- Design, operate, and maintain enterprise-scale on-premises Active Directory Domain Services environments.
- Manage users, groups, access lifecycles, role-based group structures, and delegation models.
- Operate hybrid identity integrations between AD DS and Microsoft Entra ID, including synchronization and authentication troubleshooting.
- Collaborate with cloud, security, infrastructure, and DevOps teams on identity-related solutions and technical decisions.
- Support infrastructure as code practices, including Terraform, for standardized and repeatable deployments.
- Improve identity-service automation, documentation, operational processes, and security practices.
Requirements
- 4–5 years of hands-on experience owning and operating on-premises Active Directory Domain Services in enterprise environments.
- Production experience managing and supporting Active Directory environments.
- Strong Windows Server 2016–2022 expertise, including domain controller lifecycle management and patching strategies.
- Hands-on experience with Microsoft Entra ID in hybrid identity environments.
- Understanding of privileged access, least privilege, and Active Directory attack-surface reduction.
- Fluent English at a minimum B2 level is required.
