Data Licensing & Operations Manager (Healthcare Data)

Location: Remote, must be based in the United States

Salary: $120,000–$150,000 per year, plus eligibility for an annual discretionary bonus

What you will do

• Lead the end-to-end procurement lifecycle for third-party data, including vendor identification, evaluation, negotiation, and onboarding with data engineering teams.
• Manage relationships with data vendors, including access and delivery, issue resolution, performance reviews, renewals, and ongoing governance.
• Administer data licensing agreements and maintain records of permitted uses, field restrictions, sublicensing provisions, audit rights, costs, renewals, and reporting obligations.
• Optimize the vendor portfolio by assessing usage and value, consolidating providers, retiring unnecessary contracts, and improving data investment returns.
• Build and maintain a centralized inventory covering data vendors, contracts, licensing terms, costs, renewal timelines, and usage metrics.
• Lead data operations projects involving new acquisitions, research initiatives, and scalable internal programs.

Requirements

• 5–7 years of experience in vendor management, procurement, contract administration, data operations, or a related field.
• Bachelor’s degree in business, information management, healthcare administration, or a related discipline.
• Experience negotiating and administering data licensing or software procurement agreements, including permitted use, field restrictions, sublicensing, audit rights, and data syndication.
• Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple workstreams independently and communicate progress clearly.
• Experience managing vendor renewals, performance reviews, issue escalation, contract governance, and stakeholder coordination.
• Knowledge of healthcare data such as claims, clinical, benchmarking, and market data, including HIPAA and Data Use Agreement requirements.
