Senior Systems Engineer (Robotics)

Location: San Francisco, California or Oakland, California, United States

Salary: $130,600–$192,000, $159,800–$235,000, or $193,800–$285,000 USD annually, plus potential equity grants.

What you will do

• Define system requirements and interfaces for next-generation delivery platforms.
• Develop system architectures and interface control documents covering functionality, performance, and safety constraints.
• Lead trade studies and technical risk assessments to evaluate design options.
• Create verification and validation strategies, including test plans, acceptance criteria, and simulation requirements.
• Coordinate cross-discipline verification and act as a technical liaison for regulatory bodies, operations teams, suppliers, and program management.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or advanced degree in Systems, Aerospace, Electrical, Mechanical, or a related engineering discipline.
• 5+ years of experience in systems engineering, requirements management, or a related role in a safety-critical or highly complex engineering environment.
• Experience with requirements management tools such as DOORS, Jama, or Polarion and structured requirements traceability.
• Experience developing and validating system requirements in self-driving, aerospace, or other safety-critical domains.
• Ability to manage interfaces across Mechanical, Electrical, Software, and Reliability Engineering disciplines.
• Experience with Python or SQL for data analysis, system modeling, or test automation.
