Requirements & Concepts Engineer (Systems Engineering)

Location: Cambridge, Massachusetts, United States; consistent on-site support is required.

Base salary: $75,000–$156,000 per year

What you will do

• Develop system concepts, architectures, requirements, and test concepts for strategic defense, hypersonic, space, precision-guided munition, and autonomous air or sea vehicle missions.
• Apply digital engineering and model-based systems engineering methods across the system lifecycle.
• Translate mission and customer needs into system and capability requirements, use cases, interface designs, and technical solutions.
• Coordinate requirements assessments, formal and informal evaluations, verification activities, risk analysis, and performance engineering.
• Develop or integrate multidisciplinary models, simulations, hardware-in-the-loop and environmental test platforms for prototyping and deployment.
• Present analysis results, recommendations, technical reports, and trade-offs to customers, project leadership, engineers, and external partners.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in engineering, physics, mathematics, or a related field; a master's degree is preferred.
• 3–5 years of systems engineering experience with an emphasis on requirements engineering.
• Practical experience with systems engineering processes, requirements allocation, verification traceability, and compliance planning.
• Familiarity with MBSE or digital engineering tools and methods, including SysML, modeling and simulation, or systems analysis.
• Strong technical communication, organization, systems thinking, and stakeholder engagement skills.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government security clearance and work on-site consistently.

Nice to have

• Experience with MagicDraw, DOORS, MATLAB/Simulink, Python, or integration of descriptive modeling and simulation tools.
• Knowledge of GN&C, avionics, fault tolerance, cybersecurity, communications, encryption, machine learning, or data engineering.
• Experience with interface standards and documentation such as OSI, DoDAF, SysML, or signal and message databases.
• Prior technical leadership, stakeholder engagement, and management experience.
