Requirements Engineer (Systems Engineering)

Salary: $62,500–$140,000 base salary per year

What you will do

• Gather, analyze, translate, and document functional and non-functional requirements from stakeholders.
• Develop task-level and system-level requirements, support requirements allocation, and maintain traceability matrices.
• Create basic requirement models using SysML tools such as MagicDraw and participate in trade space exploration.
• Support service-oriented architecture components, cross-domain data workflows, and requirements analysis automation with Python.
• Conduct requirements assessments, evaluate results, recommend improvements, and provide content for technical reports and presentations.
• Collaborate with lead engineers, systems, machine learning, data science, and external partner teams.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, physics, mathematics, or a related field.
• 0–3 years of systems engineering experience with an emphasis on requirements engineering.
• Practical experience with systems engineering processes and requirements analysis.
• Familiarity with model-based systems engineering or digital engineering tools and methods.
• Strong organizational, oral communication, written communication, and system-level problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work under senior engineering guidance and execute assignments within the systems engineering lifecycle.

Nice to have

• Master’s degree in a relevant field.
• Experience with modeling and simulation, coding languages, SysML, STPA, DOORS, or other engineering analysis tools.
• Knowledge of guidance, navigation, and control, avionics architectures, fault tolerance, cybersecurity, communications, or encryption.
