Assembly & Test Technician II (Aerospace): Performing precision assembly, adjustment, and testing of complex mechanical, hydraulic, and electromechanical flight actuators with an accent on blueprint-based work, dimensional accuracy, and acceptance testing. Focus on diagnosing test failures, completing rework, validating actuator performance, and documenting repair work in an onsite Torrance facility.

Location: Onsite in Torrance, California, United States; 1st shift, 6:00am–2:30pm

Salary: $28.00–$36.00 per hour

What you will do

  • Perform precision assembly on complex production and repair mechanical, hydraulic, and electromechanical actuators.
  • Adjust and align assemblies using shimming, fixtures, tooling, torque wrenches, gauges, and measuring equipment.
  • Conduct mechanical, hydraulic, and electronic tests according to current acceptance procedures and specifications.
  • Diagnose test failures, recommend or perform rework, and hold problem units for engineering disposition.
  • Verify dimensional accuracy and conformance with current revision requirements.
  • Order replacement parts and document parts, repairs, and work performed on data sheets.

Requirements

  • At least 3 years of mechanical, hydraulic, electromechanical, electronic, or aerospace assembly experience.
  • Experience with precision assembly and testing of flight actuators.
  • Ability to read blueprints and use dial indicators, calipers, micrometers, and other precision measuring equipment.
  • Experience diagnosing mechanical components and test failures.
  • Basic Windows, Word, Excel, and Outlook skills.
  • Must meet FAA drug and alcohol testing program requirements and possess or be able to obtain a security clearance.

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • FAA Airframe & Powerplant certification.
