Principal Data Manager

Location: Remote from Canada; home-based office in Canada

Salary: $130,000–$165,000 per year

What you will do

• Lead clinical data management activities across complex clinical research projects and act as the primary contact for timelines, deliverables, technical matters, and out-of-scope requests.
• Design databases and specifications, develop UAT test plans and data transfer specifications, and oversee quality reviews and approvals.
• Review clinical, external, third-party, and non-Case Report Form data; identify discrepancies; and create and resolve data queries.
• Validate electronic data, edit checks, monitoring reports, listings, and summary tables while coordinating with programmers and project teams.
• Develop and maintain Data Management Plans and Data Quality Review Plans, including deviations and related decisions.
• Manage study resources, milestones, risks, documentation, audits, training, project meetings, bids, billing activities, and post-go-live database modifications.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a relevant scientific, healthcare, or technical field.
• At least 10 years of relevant clinical data management experience.
• In-depth knowledge of clinical trial data management concepts, processes, procedures, data flows, regulations, industry guidance, conventions, and standards.
• Strong experience with clinical data review, database management, validation, quality control, data transfer, and electronic data capture.
• Excellent communication, presentation, relationship-building, analytical, organizational, leadership, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities independently, identify risks proactively, and maintain current knowledge of regulatory and industry developments.
