Localisation Engineer (AI)

What you will do

• Develop localization strategy and lead complex technical projects throughout their lifecycle.
• Design, build, and maintain a full-stack AI translation platform, including web applications, backend services, and data pipelines.
• Integrate LLMs into localization workflows to automate processes, improve content reuse, and support intelligent quality assurance.
• Establish QA frameworks and provide technical support for reliable, observable localization pipelines.
• Manage vendor relationships, budget planning, and translation quality standards.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Strong computer science fundamentals, including algorithms and data structures.
• 5+ years of software development experience with Python, Java, JavaScript, C++, or Go.
• Experience designing scalable, high-availability web applications and backend services.
• Familiarity with AI-assisted coding workflows such as Cursor or Claude Code.
• Conversational English and Japanese required for daily cross-functional communication.

Nice to have

• Experience building LLM workflows, prompt and context engineering, or multi-agent frameworks.
• Experience with LLM-based translation.
• Knowledge of SQL, relational databases, and efficient data processing pipelines.
• Familiarity with XLIFF, Translation Management Systems, or automated localization quality assurance.
• Experience gathering end-user feedback and iterating on product features.
