Senior Software Engineer (Healthcare AI)

Location: Columbus, Ohio; Irvine, California; or remote within the U.S. Hybrid work flexibility is available.

What you will do

• Design, develop, test, and maintain scalable applications using Elixir and Python.
• Build and support early-stage and mature production systems powering the medical imaging data platform.
• Translate business requirements into technical solutions with cross-functional teams.
• Own projects from concept through deployment and ongoing support.
• Lead technical initiatives, mentor engineers, and improve engineering standards.
• Identify improvements to system performance, reliability, scalability, and the technology stack.

Requirements

• 5+ years of professional software engineering experience.
• Production application development experience with Elixir and/or Python.
• Strong knowledge of software engineering principles, design patterns, and development best practices.
• Experience developing and maintaining scalable distributed systems.
• Strong communication, collaboration, project ownership, and prioritization skills.
• Ability to work independently and stay current with evolving technologies.

Nice to have

• Experience with AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
• Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, PostgreSQL, or NoSQL databases.
• Engineering mentorship or technical leadership experience.
• Healthcare technology, health data, medical imaging, or regulated-environment experience.
• Experience with data-intensive applications, APIs, and large-scale platform development.
