Product Analytics Engineer

Annual salary: $125,200–$195,600; typical starting salary: $148,700.

What you will do

• Build and maintain the product analytics data foundation for reporting, self-service analytics, experimentation, and AI.
• Partner with Engineering to define and validate product instrumentation before feature releases.
• Design and maintain scalable dbt models that transform product events into trusted analytical datasets.
• Develop semantic models, reusable business logic, governed metrics, and certified datasets for analytics platforms.
• Monitor pipelines, identify instrumentation and data quality gaps, and implement durable improvements.
• Use AI tools to accelerate data modeling, testing, documentation, and code development.

Requirements

• 6+ years of experience in Product Data Analytics, Analytics Engineering, or a similar technical data role in SaaS or a high-growth technology company.
• Expert SQL skills and strong knowledge of data architecture, scalable analytical modeling, and query performance optimization.
• 6+ years of production experience building, deploying, and maintaining dbt projects.
• Experience modeling behavioral product data, event-driven datasets, product instrumentation, and Customer Data Platforms such as Segment or RudderStack.
• Experience with data quality testing, documentation, observability, governance, semantic models, and governed metrics.
• Experience with modern analytics platforms and cloud data warehouses, including Looker, Omni, Hex, Sigma, Snowflake, BigQuery, or Redshift.

Nice to have

• Experience using AI coding and analytics tools such as Cursor or Claude Code.
• Experience partnering across Engineering, Product, Analytics, and business functions.
