Sr. Buyer, Avionics, Strategic Sourcing

Location: United States, with expected travel between Torrance, California and Allen, Texas. U.S. citizenship is required because the role requires the ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government-issued security clearance.

What you will do

• Develop and execute production and sourcing strategies with strategic sourcing, manufacturing, engineering, and quality teams.
• Evaluate supply plans based on quality, reliability, cost, and supply-base resilience.
• Track and report supply plans against master schedules in an MRP engine.
• Negotiate contracts covering pricing, technical requirements, compliance terms, MSAs, LTAs, and inventory agreements.
• Facilitate design-for-manufacturability reviews and identify alternate parts and second sources before design freeze.
• Forecast spend, supply, and infrastructure needs while resolving rejected-material issues and critical supplier risks.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent.
• At least 4 years of experience in a related field, program, or project.
• At least 4 years of experience in avionics, PCB/PCBA, electrical, electronic, electromechanical, instrumentation, RF, or related supply chain organizations.
• Experience with MRP or ERP systems, bills of materials, work orders, and purchase orders.
• Knowledge of component suppliers, manufacturing processes, mechanical and electrical domains, and DFM/DFA principles.
• U.S. citizenship and the ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government security clearance are required.

Nice to have

• APICS, Six Sigma, or similar certification experience.
• Data analysis experience with Excel, SQL, or advanced analytics software.
• Experience sourcing machined parts, active and passive EEE components, PCBs, and PCBAs.
