Community Engagement Lead

Location: Washington, D.C.; must be located in DC and willing to work in the office 4 days per week

Salary: $165,000–$195,000 annually, plus benefits, potential equity, and potential bonus

What you will do

• Lead community engagement strategies for deployments by mapping civic and political landscapes, identifying stakeholders, conducting community listening, and preparing for public meetings.
• Build a scalable playbook covering stakeholder mapping, community listening, coalition building, public meeting preparation, and responses to emerging concerns.
• Translate complex AI-enabled technology into clear, accessible community value in partnership with Sales, Product, Marketing, and Implementation.
• Monitor public discourse, media coverage, and stakeholder sentiment; identify misinformation and emerging concerns; and develop fact-based communications.
• Build relationships with community organizations, civil rights advocates, faith leaders, business groups, public safety leaders, policy influencers, and local media.
• Support government partners through public hearings, council votes, community meetings, and other high-stakes civic processes.

Requirements

• 8+ years of experience in local or state political environments, public affairs, government relations, campaigns, or community engagement.
• Deep understanding of civic decision-making, city halls, public hearings, and local government processes.
• Proven ability to build coalitions, navigate high-stakes public conversations, and advance complex initiatives.
• Strong relationships with community organizations, elected officials, government leaders, or other civic stakeholders.
• Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to explain complex or technical concepts clearly.
• Located in Washington, D.C. and able to work from the office 4 days per week.

Nice to have

• Experience with public safety, government technology, or other complex civic issues.
• Background as a chief of staff, campaign manager, public affairs or government relations leader, policy director, senior government advisor, or community engagement lead.
