Lead Software Engineer - Integrations (Healthcare)

Location: Remote-first within the United States; approximately 5% travel, including possible travel to Boston, MA for new-hire onboarding and occasional in-person team meetings and company events.

Salary: $150,000–$185,000 annually, plus benefits and bonus.

What you will do

• Provide technical leadership across architecture, system design, scalability, reliability, and operational excellence.
• Design and build scalable, resilient systems for critical enterprise integrations.
• Lead secure integrations with internal, external, and third-party platforms.
• Design event-driven distributed architectures and drive cloud infrastructure and CI/CD automation.
• Establish monitoring, observability, and incident response practices, including production issue resolution.
• Partner with product, operations, data, security, and business stakeholders while mentoring engineers and supporting hiring and career development.

Requirements

• 8+ years of experience building and supporting scalable enterprise applications and distributed systems.
• Hands-on experience integrating external APIs and third-party systems.
• Experience building automated testing frameworks.
• Expertise in authentication and authorization frameworks, secure API design, and access control.
• Experience with relational and non-relational data modeling, observability tooling, event-driven architecture, Infrastructure as Code, cloud provisioning, and CI/CD pipeline design.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Computer Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.

Nice to have

• Healthcare technology, prior authorization, healthcare interoperability standards, or experience in another highly regulated industry.
