TL;DR

Staff Accountant II (Accounting/Finance): Supporting daily accounting operations for an advanced manufacturing and vehicle technology company with an accent on reconciliations, fixed assets, financial reporting, and tax compliance. Focus on owning sub-ledgers, improving close-cycle efficiency, preparing audit materials, and maintaining accurate records under U.S. GAAP.

Location: Torrance, California, United States; 4 days onsite per week required. Candidates must be legally authorized to access information and technology subject to U.S. export controls and eligible to work in the United States.

Salary: $94,610–$130,090 USD per year, plus equity and discretionary incentive bonus opportunities.

Divergent develops the Divergent Adaptive Production System, a machine-learning-enabled platform for additive manufacturing and flexible assembly of complex vehicle structures and subsystems for automotive, aerospace, and defense applications.

What you will do

  • Prepare daily bank reconciliations, investigate variances, and recommend corrective actions.
  • Own fixed asset and lease schedules, including additions, disposals, depreciation, and ASC 842 compliance.
  • Prepare journal entries, account reconciliations, variance analyses, and month-end close deliverables.
  • Prepare recurring schedules for monthly and quarterly financial reporting packages.
  • Support external auditors, tax preparers, and service providers with audit and tax documentation.
  • Contribute to sales/use tax and property tax filings and improve accounting processes and ERP workflows.

Requirements

  • U.S. work authorization and lawful access to technology subject to U.S. export controls.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • 2–4 years of accounting experience in industry or public accounting.
  • Knowledge of U.S. GAAP and fundamental accounting principles.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including VLOOKUPs and pivot tables.
  • Strong attention to detail, organization, ownership, and ability to work independently against deadlines.

Nice to have

  • CPA eligibility or progress toward CPA certification.
  • Experience with Oracle Fusion or another mid-to-large ERP system.
