Business Intelligence Engineer

Location: Remote within Wisconsin or a bordering state, commutable to Wisconsin; quarterly in-person business meetings in Wisconsin may be required. Work hours are Monday–Friday, 8:30am–5:00pm CST.

Salary: $66,800–$91,100 per year, plus eligibility for a bonus incentive plan.

What you will do

• Collect and transform raw organizational data into actionable business intelligence and advanced analytic solutions.
• Build automated reports and dashboards using Power BI, Microsoft Excel, and SQL Server Management Studio.
• Assess complex datasets, perform root cause analysis, and support data-driven recommendations.
• Collaborate with business partners, technical teams, and other departments to gather requirements and define reporting solutions.
• Facilitate discussions about solution alternatives, risks, reporting logic, and desired outcomes.
• Create documentation, presentations, process flows, summaries, and other materials explaining technical processes and recommendations.

Requirements

• 3+ years of experience in data analysis.
• 3+ years of experience with Power BI.
• 3+ years of experience assessing complex datasets and performing root cause analysis.
• 3+ years of experience with Excel formulas, pivot tables, charts, and graphs.
• 1+ year of experience with SQL Server Management Studio.
• Residence in Wisconsin or a bordering state with the ability to commute to Wisconsin is required.

Nice to have

• Bachelor’s or advanced degree in a quantitative discipline such as mathematics, economics, finance, statistics, computer science, or engineering.
• 1+ year of experience with SAS or other data systems.
• Experience with data mining and predictive modeling techniques.
