Wind Resource & Energy Yield Engineer

Location: Brazil; hybrid arrangement with three days per week in the São Paulo office and two days remotely. Domestic and international travel may be required for site visits, client meetings, project execution, and industry events.

What you will do

• Perform wind resource assessments and energy yield analyses for renewable energy projects across Latin America.
• Analyze met mast, LiDAR, and SoDAR data and conduct long-term wind resource corrections.
• Perform wake effect and wind flow modeling, wind farm micrositing, and layout optimization.
• Calculate uncertainty and energy losses and conduct IEC 61400-1 site classifications.
• Support technical due diligence, review third-party reports, and participate in measurement campaigns and site verification.
• Prepare technical reports and participate in client meetings, business development discussions, industry events, and prospecting activities.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in engineering, atmospheric sciences, physics, or a related discipline.
• At least 3 years of practical experience in wind resource assessment, energy yield analysis, or wind project development consulting; this is not an entry-level role.
• Hands-on knowledge of wind assessment methodologies and industry-standard software, including OpenWind, Windographer, WAsP, or WindPRO.
• English proficiency sufficient for technical reports and client communication.
• Ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and support client-facing technical and commercial activities.

Nice to have

• Offshore wind experience and Python programming skills.
• Network and relationships within the Brazilian wind energy market, including wind developers and investors.
• Commercial or business development exposure and experience presenting to clients.
• Technical conference participation and additional consulting experience.
