Sr Phlebotomist-Mt. Airy, NC

Location: Onsite in Mt. Airy, North Carolina; this position is not remote.

What you will do

• Verify test requisitions and patient identification before collection.
• Obtain blood specimens through venipunctures and finger sticks.
• Maintain specimen integrity using aseptic technique and applicable isolation procedures.
• Track collections, document collection times, maintain quality-control logs, and follow testing schedules.
• Resolve unusual test orders with physicians, pathologists, nursing stations, and reference laboratories.
• Manage patient reports, triage billing questions, coordinate patient follow-up, and schedule courier pickups.

Requirements

• Minimum of 5 years of phlebotomy experience.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Phlebotomy certificate where required by state law.
• Bachelor's degree preferred.
• Ability to follow professional, hospital, federal, state, local, and JCAHO standards.
• Ability to work in an office setting while wearing scrubs and tracking each blood draw.
